Actress Saumya Tandon, talks about her character and the show Bhabhi Ji Ghar Pe Hain? with us.

Pretty Saumya Tandon, who was last seen as the host of Dance India Dance Season 3, after a long time is coming back with a fiction show. Saumya, who was also seen in films, will be seen essaying a different role in the show Bhabhi Ji Ghar Pe Hain? on &TV.

In conversation with us, Saumya speaks about her character, doing a comedy show and more…

Tell us about your character?

My character name is Anita who is a very modern and extremely loving wife. The story is about four characters who reside in Kanpur. It’s a situational comedy which you will see between the two neighboring couples.

What made you to take up this show?

It took me quite a while to come back in a fiction show because I was not very sure of doing the same. But I thought that comedy will be more challenging and fun to do. I have a very good relation with Zee TV as I have done Dance India Dance. I have fond memories attached with the channel with and comedy is something which I thought would probably be more interesting than a normal fiction show.

I have done many reality shows as a host, adventurous show, comedy show too, but never thought of doing a fiction comedy show. But as it is said, ‘Never say never’, so here I am in a fiction show.

As per the media reports, it stated that you have replaced Rashmi Desai. So what do you have to say about it?

I have not replaced Rashmi because she was finalized for another character.

Do you relate yourself to the character you are essaying in the show?

Yes, I have won many beauty pageants which is one similarity between Anita and me. I am very prim and proper in my real life also. Actually it’s quite interesting as I never thought about it but yes there are a few similarities. Other than that, I am an urban girl and the story is based on a girl who hails from Kanpur, so here I am totally different from my character.

After a long gap, you are coming back on screen. So any difficulties you are facing right now?

It is very tough. The traveling is very much as the set of our show is quite far from my place where I have to go daily. We will have to pull 22 episodes in 30 days, as shooting schedules are quite hectic.

The best part is I do not have to shed tears, I will have to laugh and do comedy because of which the stress gets reduced. But, its definitely going to be tough, I am scared and will definitely miss anchoring.

We wishes Saumya Tandon all the best!
