Actress Sayantani Ghosh will play Kunti, Karn’s and Arjun’s mother in Karn Sangini.

After portraying the role of Neela Maa in Star Plus’ Naamkarann, Sayantani Ghosh will next be seen playing Kunti, Karn’s mother, in yet another upcoming mythological drama on Star Plus, KarnSangini.

After doing the role of Satyavati in Star Plus’ Mahabharat in 2013, the makers have roped her in for KarnSangini, a story set in the backdrop of the Mahabharat, which is also the untold love story of Karn (Ashim Gulati) and his wife Uruvi (Tejasswi Prakash).

When quizzed on what made her take up the role of Kunti, Sayantani revealed, “I said yes to the role because Kunti has a lot of layers to her character which is very challenging for me. I have played Satyavati in the previous ‘Mahabharat’ and I am the only one who has been retained from the cast.”

She continued, “But this is a fictional story which will highlight the story of Uruvi – the outcast’s queen who chose Karn over Arjun (Kinshuk Vaidya) (both being Kunti’s children). The show is different and I hope the audience likes it.”

The first promo of the show was released yesterday and has been garnering a lot of appreciation, thus making this show a much awaited project from Star Plus.
