WHAAT?? Ekta Kapoor to come up with a ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’ spin-off?

Is this idea for real?

Looks like it is raining spin-offs this year. Star Plus was the first to come up with a spin off for their show, Ishqbaaaz. Then Ekta Kapoor launched her TRP Topper Kumkum Bhagya’s spin off ‘Kundali Bhagya’.

And it was at this very same launch, that Ekta revealed that she was planning a spin off for ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein‘ as well.

Ekta went on to reveal how she wanted to do something on the lines of how the famous sitcom Friends, had a spin-off of sorts based on the life of Joey Tribiani and his family.

Said Ekta, “I was looking forward to doing something on the lines of Friends and its spin off. But there are 6-7 strong characters in most of my shows. Hence, I was planning something on the same lines for ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’ as well, but it was not working out with the storyline and writing and all other aspects.”

Well, we can only imagine how delighted ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’ fans would have been, if this idea would have seen the light of the day.
